BlackBerry PlayBook Hits FCC in 3 Flavors – 16, 32 & 64GB

Tablets are one of hottest trends in the mobile world with hardware manufacturers across the board coming forth with their own offerings. The current undisputed leader is Apple’s iPad (and presumably, the forthcoming iPad 2) which hit store shelves last year with runner ups looking to knock the iPad off its throne like the Motorola XOOM

However, while these tablets are the leaders in the iOS and Android world, several other tablets powered by different platforms are in the works as well. One of the more highly anticipated tablets is none other than RIM’s BlackBerry PlayBook. We’ve told you about this device many times in the past but for those not paying attention it features a 7-inch display, 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 5 megapixel rear facing camera, 3 megapixel front facing camera and is powered by RIM’s BlackBerry QNX platform.

While the device is expected to launch in the coming months there is still more news to be told. For instance, just today the device has been spotted at the FCC with three different storage sizes including 16, 32 and 64GB. Unfortunately, we don’t have a price to associate with these varying models but, if we had to take a guess, we’d say the 16GB model will be considerably cheaper than the 64GB – but, you know, that’s just us
